Borussia Dortmund vs Monaco was supposed to be played yesterday night at Signal Iduna Park but the game was postponed after three explosions hit the Dortmund team bus on their way to the stadium for their first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals. Defender and Spanish international Marc Bartra was taken to hospital after breaking his wrist during the explosion.
The game has been postponed and will be played this afternoon two hours before Atletico de Madrid vs Leicester City and FC Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid.
A letter found near the attack site took responsibility for the events that had unfolded. Authorities are still not sure if the incident is terror related or not but they will know more about the situation soon.
All tickets from yesterday are still valid for today’s match but the away fans are still stuck in Dortmund so the BVB fans decided to offer accommodation for the stranded fans.
The area now has very high security levels due to the high risk of a terror attack and there will be extremely large amounts of security on the bus and at the stadium to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
