The Confederations Cup final is just around the corner and it will be a very tight match-up. Chile have won two consecutive Copa America wins and will face World Cup winners Germany in an attempt to add more silverware to their cabinet.
Arturo Vidal, Alexis Sanchez and Claudio Bravo have proved to be essential for Chile during this tournament whilst Germany’s talented youngsters have continued to impress. So who will come out on top?
Germany have had defensive problems that have been exposed throughout the tournament and Chile will be ready to make use of that. The South American champions may have problems too, as Alexis Sanchez hasn’t been in top form lately.
Neither team will be fresh with five matches in the last 14 days, but the German squad will no doubt be fresher as they have a day’s more rest. The versatility in their squad has made it much easier to rotate the squad around and therefore they will be more likely to end up winning the tournament.
Their talented young midfielders and attackers are likely to break down the walls of the strong but tired Chilean defence. Despite this, the game will be incredibly tight and it will be a great game to watch between the 3rd and 4th highest ranked countries in the world.
Who do you think will lift the trophy?
